South Bank Students’ Union, like every students’ union in the UK, is a democratic membership organisation run by students for students.

Incorporation

Transforming South Bank SU’s legal form

The SU is currently a registered unincorporated charity but is in the process of incorporating to become a company limited by guarantee. This process should be completed by August 2021 and the SU will operate within its current unincorporated entity until the process is completed.

Our rules

Articles & Bye-Laws

The Students' Union will run in accordance with the Articles of Association and Bye-Laws. They set out the basic rules we must follow.

Trustee Board

Our Trustee Board are ultimately responsible for ensuring that the SU operates legally, is financially sustainable and achieves its strategy. The Board is made up of elected student leaders and volunteers, as well as voluntary external trustees. The SU Senior Management Team and two LSBU staff are invited to attend the meetings in a non-voting capacity.
